AT&T Williams Website
So, what was the problem?
After the launch of the official fan club, AT&T Williams came to us with a new project, the redesign and redevelopment of the main AT&T Williams F1 website. Although only a year old, the previous site wasn't meeting the expectations of neither the team or fans. With a wealth of content already published and new features such as the Williams Media Channel, Williams needed a new, richer, more engaging website.
How did we help?
We worked closely with Williams during every step of the project. The first step was the creation of a new design. This design had to enforce the strong corporate branding, reflect the heritage of Williams F1 whilst at the same time be easy to navigate and a joy to use. Imagery played a big part within the new design, with every article, feature and interview accompanied by rich visual content taking the visitor right into the action.
With such a large amount of content continually being updated, the site design had to draw focus on the latest, freshest and most relevant material. A clever and intuitive archiving and tagging system was developed for those who wanted to step back and find out what happened at a certain race, or how the drivers faired.
In addition to the rich frontend, a powerful an intuitive administration system was developed. Working with the team at Williams during every step, we designed a system that was quick and simple to use yet full of powerful features - including a centralised media browser, organising and sorting tools for content, and a simple categorisation system of all material around a web 2.0 tagging system.
The happy ending
Initial feedback has been very positive with both fans and members of the Williams team expressing the appreciation and love for the new site. The Williams team now have a simple and intuitive system to use on a daily basis saving time and relieving stress.
Looking forward, Williams now have a platform for showcasing a wealth of awesome content.
Testimonial
Rawnet had worked on various projects across the business in the past so I knew their capabilities and was therefore confident that they would be the ideal partner to design and deliver the new AT&T Williams website.
We have a large web estate requirement at Williams F1 so the scope for the site was extremely ambitious, particularly considering the short time frame in which it had to be produced. The team at Rawnet were not phased, however, and proved to be extremely efficient and effective in their work ethic and application, despite considerable pressures. Not only that, but every member of the team involved in the project was extremely affable and committed to the project, which made my job a lot easier. It was great to work with people so knowledgeable in their field, and to have both the creative and technical under one roof was a bonus.
The results speak for themselves and the end product has actually surpassed our original expectations.
One of the greatest benefits of the new site is the bespoke Content Management System. It is well designed, intuitive and saves me valuable time, particularly when working around the world at the 18 Grands Prix when time is tight and connections are unreliable.
We are already receiving positive feedback from all of our various stakeholders, which was our main priority. Thanks to Rawnet, we've achieved our objectives and I'm looking forward to continuing our relationship into the future.
